Some Stories Get Told Wrong.
Maybe it was a headline that left out the context. A courtroom verdict that became the whole story. A family myth that hardened into fact over decades. A secret that shaped everything but never got spoken. A version of events that everyone accepted except the people who were there.
You’ve carried the real story for years. Maybe your whole life. And you’ve never had a way to put it on the page.
This is your chance to set the record straight.
What Is a Set the Record Straight Biography?
A Set the Record Straight Biography is a written account that tells your side of the story. We research, we write, and we publish a biography built on honesty, not spin.
This isn’t about revenge. It isn’t about whitewashing. It’s about the full picture, finally in print.
Some stories need to be corrected for the historical record. Others need to be told so a family can finally understand what really happened. Some need to come out of silence before it’s too late.
Whatever your reason, we help you tell it with care and with truth.
The Process
Every Set the Record Straight project is different. The sources, the sensitivities, and the stakes vary. But the process follows a consistent shape:
1. The Consultation
We start with a conversation. You tell us the story as you understand it, what got told wrong, and what you want to set straight. We assess whether this project is a good fit for biography and whether you’re ready to move forward.
This consultation is free.
2. The Research
We gather what’s needed: documents, records, timelines, interviews. Some projects are document-heavy. Others rely on memory and testimony. We work with what exists and build from there.
3. The Draft
We construct a timeline and flesh it out into a narrative. You review the first draft to confirm accuracy, tone, and emphasis. This is your story. You need to recognize it on the page.
4. The Book
We finalize the biography and publish it as a PDF and paperback. You decide how it gets shared: privately within the family, or publicly for the record.
